Physics

Physics 1

Here, we will explore both the very small and the very big. We will lay a foundation for chemistry and biology as well as engineering.

We have waited until the second trimester to engage with science so that you completed a sufficient mathematics background to fully appreciate and enjoy this course. We will derive the kinematics formulas using calculus, but, in doing so, we will see that there is not much point to memorizing formulas when you understand the underlying math. Additionally, we will visit various models of the atom while beginning to understand concepts like enthalpy, entropy, and electrostatics. This will lay the groundwork for chemistry. We will conduct a variety of labs and you will produce your first lab reports.
